"You see her, ner vod?" Niner looked out over the Shinarcan Bridge Extension, only somewhat aware of the ten 501st Legion white-jobs who had formed a temporary checkpoint at the far end of the bridge. Darman was right next to him- he could sense his brother's angst as the man swept the crowd for his wife.
"No," Darman said. "Not yet. We'll find her, though." Darman brought up his weapon and looked down the sights- a standard issue DC-17m, with the sniper configuration. Each member of Omega, tasked with finding Etain in the crowd, had one of these. Niner shouldered his own and checked in with the other commandos.
"Corr, got a visual?"
"Negative. I'm tryin', sarge."
"Atin, how about you?"
"No...wait- shab. Shab, shab, shab." Darman and Niner instantly perked up.
